DIVAS for Social Justice is proud to be a community partner with the Mayor’s Office of Technology and Innovation to power Laurelton.nyc, an online platform developed to encourage civic engagement, online organizing and information sharing.
Laurelton.nyc serves as an online community news outlet to encourage inter-generational citizen journalism. The community members of Laurelton serve as contributors to Laurelton.nyc .
DIVAS for Social Justice encourages youth in underserved communities to use technology for social change and know there is a need for digital literacy in all communities. Students that participate in the DIVAS after-school program STEAM for Social Change serve as citizen journalists at Laurelton.nyc.
